Member Tribes are federally recognized tribes exercising powers of self-governance and located in Washington. Member Tribes also have a seat on the Board of Directors and full voting privileges.
While tribal casinos themselves are not members of the Washington Indian Gaming Association (WIGA), they are an important economic development branch of tribal governments. Tribal casinos are regulated through compact agreements between tribal gaming agencies and the Washington State Gambling Commission, with additional oversight by the National Indian Gaming Commission.
